It's fitting that I found this random picture on my camera. I don't know who took it, but these are the guys that we lived vicariously through all summer long. A record of your treatment wouldn't be the same without them in it. It's funny when you are sick, all the things you aren't suppose to do, suddenly become the percription for getting better. Eat as many milkshakes as you can, lay around and watch TV, stay inside. . .it was our way of life this summer. Lazy summer's arent too bad in the sweltering heat. It made the time slow down a little bit. Every mother loves to see the clock slow down, even if it's just for a little bit.
Kaylee was diagnosed with a stage III favorable Wilms Tumor in June 2011. Wilms is a childhood kidney cancer that affects abt 600 kids in North America a year. She finished 6 months of treatment including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. In June of 2012 we found a recurrence in her lung through a routine CT scan, and are now starting the process over again. Although always a little behind, this blog is to document her story, for her, to remember the trials and blessings that have come from her diagnosis, and so she always knows what a brave little girl she is.
Look at that cute little face. I love your smile.
